Course Structure
Part 1: Foundations

Importance, applications, and fundamentals of public speech are discussed to provide thorough introduction.

Techniques and strategies to avoid psychological barriers to public speaking are discussed to reassure and prepare students for success.

Body language techniques involved in extending presence, maintaining engagement, and using emphasis are discussed and demonstrated.

Vocal variation techniques involved in fostering engagement and demonstrating charisma are discussed and demonstrated.

Students learn to identify the needs and interests of their audience members and structure their arguments and conclusions.
Part 2: Mastery

Students learn how to use tone, pacing, and emphasis to underscore important ideas and increase audience engagement during presentations.

Students learn to properly structure presentations and speeches to optimize impact, audience comprehension, and logical strength.

Techniques involved in reframing statistics, figures, and facts to ensure comprehension and memorability are discussed and demonstrated.

Students learn to address questions, abandon their script, and manage crises while speaking to minimize disruption and maintain credibility.

Students are tasked with presenting a Political Campaign Speech. Extensive feedback will be given to each student to cover all areas of improvement.
